I am a big believer in wearing the clothes that you have. Although I am a pretty consistent shopper, I do tend to gravitate towards certain things because I know they’ll mix and match with other pieces in my closet. So, I have a closet full of black, white, gray, and shades of denim. I styled this outfit based on the idea of repurposing pieces that I’ve featured in other recent posts to showcase the idea that if your closet is carefully curated, it’s quite easy to mix and match in endless ways! Scroll for my tips on how to have a perfectly adaptable closet.
Here are some key ideas to keep in mind:
- Invest in high quality basics! Some great places to shop for these include Nordstrom Rack and Everlane. You can also check out Goodwill for some great options as well! Start with the basics, then shop for trendy items to incorporate in with those basics.
- Establish your color palette and expand from there. Let’s say you’re really suited to fall colors (like my pretty momma!). Curate your basics to those tones, then you can add in seasonal prints and trendy patterns that perfectly mesh with your already established color scheme.
- Apply the same concepts to your accessories and shoes. So, Adidas Superstars in a classic colors, or a black mini backpack will go with lots of outfits.
