Hello Lovelies! I’ve long been intrigued by lace and delicate things, prompted by the explosion of lace as a trend at the beginning of my high school career. While I’m by no means constantly lace clad, I do appreciate the occasional lace applique or border, peeking out from under a hem.
A few months ago I noticed that people were beginning to wear lacey bra-like tops on top of shirts, really turning their outfits inside out. I was intrigued, but didn’t want to simply throw a bra on top of a tee and call it a day. There’s a certain amount of polish that must be maintained in order to pull this off without having it look garish or vulgar. So! In order to really make this work, start with a loose tee. This really adds a sense of relaxation, a bit of je ne sais quoi, an “I just threw this on” look. The most important aspect is obviously the lace overlay. This needs to be simply an implication of lingerie. The shape and fabric can be slightly reminiscent of a bra, but ideally it should have a relaxed shape, just like the t-shirt. Style the rest as you please, but I went with skinnies and combat boots for an almost rebellious look. Scroll for outfit details and tips on how to put this look together yourself!
