So, our orientation took place in the small town of Tuscania, about 3 hours outside of Florence. We arrived by bus and stayed in a little hotel for the three days we were there. In between the team building activities, ice-breakers, and ‘here’s what to expect in college’ talks, we took a day trip to Lago di Bolsena, or Lake Bolsena. We arrived around mid-morning, ready to enjoy the lake for the day.
We were due to take a boat trip for lunch. We walked down the dock in the marina, eager to see our ride for the day.
Soon, our boat arrived. It was a small group tour boat, with enough room to accommodate the 50-55 of us. There was a top deck and a lower covered deck, with seats and benches for everyone. I rushed to the top deck to get a seat with a good view.
We cruised the lake for two hours, eating, swimming, and chatting. At this point, the ice-breakers and all of that stuff has pretty much left my mind, but the lake trip has stuck around.
