Overalls were something I wore as a toddler, so obviously I was more than a little perplexed when I started seeing them in more recent street style snaps. But the more I saw them around, the more I started wanting my own pair. I think my original dismay came from not wanting to look like an OshKosh B’gosh kid. The differences between my past overalls and current ones were enough to finally cave and get my first pair since before I could speak a coherent sentence. I picked these up at Target about a year ago and have worn them pretty regularly since. The boyfriend leg makes them super comfy while you can pretty much pair them with anything because it’s really just a glorified jean aka MORE DENIM.
I took these during an afternoon of shooting film in downtown Zionsville. I was testing out my new Canon AE-1 that I bought at a swap meet. Even though most of the time the suburbs scare me (I blame Arcade Fire) the little main street of Zionsville is about as quaint and adorable as you can get. Here’s what I managed to capture!
Life is too short to cuff your jeans in a uniform manner. I live life on the edge, my friends.
Because overalls initially seemed so trendy (and probably still are), I didn’t want to spend a lot of money. These clocked in at about $35 and have done their job!
These flats were my answer to the lace up flat craze that Aquazzura started. I wanted something similar and elegant that still didn’t have the pain of heels. I felt that because they weren’t as trendy and because they were a little more rock ‘n roll with the thicker straps they were more my style.
