Liz picked me up at the airport after a long long (long) Thursday of traveling. I had gotten a casual email from Southwest that morning telling me my flight at 8pm had been cancelled. I had asked off the whole weekend and really didn’t have any other weekend to go, so I scrambled to find a flight at the last minute. I finally got there after a delayed and delayed again layover in Detroit.
Our first stop was McDonald’s, because Liz failed to remember to eat dinner that night.
We got home from the airport extremely late, pet some puppies, and then crashed.
The next day we woke up ready to go. And by go I mean eat pancakes and lounge at the pool all day.
We ended up eating at the Original Pancake House, a cute local Milwaukee eatery. The pancakes and omelettes were fluffy and flavorful, but giant. We couldn’t finish much of anything but HOOOOO was it good.
After that we shot some style photos in a random alleyway, because that’s what we do best. Full post and pictures here, if you’re interested. Usually I’m brooding and complex in style photos but this is what actually happens.
Next stop was a bookstore BIG SURPRISE, considering the fact that Liz owns 33425345 books.
We then headed to the pool for the afternoon to gawk at lifeguards (and swim).
That night we headed to the pier for some more photos (check back on Wednesday for those ones!) and then to the custard shop for some BOOOOMMMMBBB custard.
The first day in Milwaukee was so fun and it was so so wonderful to see Lerz again. We took WAY too many pictures, so expect more fun stuff soon.
