As mentioned in my previous post, the Milwaukee Art Museum was good. Too good. See? But, as I also mentioned in my previous post, it’s too much for a one day read. So here we are, back with part two, the art part. Most of this is a visual diary with some explanations of my favorites thrown in there. One of my favorite things to do in art museums is to try and become the art by posing with it. I think I learned this in the many art museums I visited with my friends Adler and Kerry during our fall break last year. They truly are the masters.
Liz got her little tattoos a while back. I absolutely love them, they’re so simple and the flirty positioning behind the ear is really fun. Of course the meaning is super nerdy but that’s what we love about Liz.
An accurate description of me and my life:
Barbara Kruger is one of my favorites. The sheer graphic statements that she makes are upheld even more by the fact that they are usually strongly worded statements as well. It was awesome to see one in person.
Penelope Umbrico was one of our favorites. Essentially, the sifts through some of the most used tags on sharing sites and compounds them into larger pieces of art. Visit her website here.
We saw this piece and immediately thought of Kerry LLC. LUV U KER.
They had this super cool feature where you could become part of the art. I joined in and made weird faces, as per usual.
Liz completely restored all of the piece below. It’s so cool to be friend with such talented people. I mean, look at that!
Ultimately our trip to the MAM was successful. What else would you expect an art restoration and design major to do on their off days?
