Most people spend their Sundays with their parents at home, at church, or any other relaxing and chill place. My sister and I spend our Sundays with our dad at music festivals.
Forecastle is in Louisville, Kentucky, just a quick 2 hour drive from Indianapolis. I know you guys are probably just as tired of hearing about Ryan Adams as you are about denim, but that’s the whole reason we went down there. We saw quite a few other acts as well, including Death Cab for Cutie, White Denim, Brandi Carlile, Femi Kuti, etc etc etc. Check back on Sunday for a playlist!
My first meal was a burger and fries. CLASSIC. If you know me you know that my favorite meal of all time is a hamburger. Literally out anything on it and I’ll be happy. If there’s fries, they have to be REALLY GOOD or covered in cheese. If neither, then it’s onion rings all the way.
A local puppet agency was asked to be at the festival for the three days. It was really funny to be in a crowd watching a show and see a giant fish making its way to the front.
One of the best parts of the whole festival was the fact that it took place in a riverfront park. That gave festival-goers the opportunity to cool off in the little mini fountain river that chopped the festival grounds in half.
They also had a really cool lounging area with hammocks, beanbags, and those cool transportable wind beds.
This was one of my dad’s best inventions. The shoe cupholder, for those days when you’re lounging in the grass all day and need to keep your baggage minimal.
Festival fashion gets weirder and weirder every year but the below examples of the latter.
