Quaff on!Easily one of the best names of a brewing company, to “quaff” is to drink heartily and heavily. That’s the idea of Big Woods, a place to gather and eat and drink (if you’re legal. whatever, USA).
After a fun afternoon of go-karting, we headed over to Big Woods to have a nice dinner in celebration of my dad’s birthday. I know what you’re thinking, didn’t we already celebrate your dad’s birthday, here? Yeah, but he’s a popular guy, he has multiple parties, I guess.
They have this incredibly bitter beer that my brother decided to try. Clearly, he loved it.
The earlier part of my dad’s party was indoor go-karting, it’s incredibly appropriate that he would wear this watch!
The inside of the restaurant is huge, with big wooden beams on the ceilings and other wooden touches throughout. It has a big cottage feeling, which makes it feel even more home-y.
In true Anna form, I ordered a big ass burger. This one had wonderfully cooked, thick bacon on top, along with caramelized onions, lettuce, and all the other usual toppings. The chips were homemade kettle parmesan chips. When you make a chip a kettle chip, it gets better. When you add parmesan to anything, it gets better. So, imagine the chip, you guys.
One of the greatest things about this place is their giant outdoor area. After dinner, we all headed out to the backyard for giant jenga, corn hole, and live music.
I may suck at corn hole, but I am very proud to be exactly mediocre at giant jenga.
Here’s to good times with the fam, giant jenga, and yummy food. Visit Big Woods at their website (to find the actual locations, duh).
