Cape Town

No, I didn’t go to South Africa.I wish. What I ACTUALLY did do is wear a cape around my town. Does that title count as click bait? Not sure, but you’re still reading and that’s the important part.

I wore this cape for a visit to Rue de Rivoli for some last minute school supply shopping on a sunday. I showed up wearing a cape and a denim jacket as a top and was immediately told by my friend that I looked like “such an American” that day. Perhaps the braids and semi-western hat also contributed. Who knows.

I paired the cape and jacket with my favorite black jeans from Citizens of Humanity, my constant Acne boots, and a Madewell bag.

I think I am one of laziest people when it comes to makeup and hair. I have no problem smearing lotions and serums and cleansers to my face in the name of skincare, but makeup and hair remain a mystery to me. That’s where hats come: you can use them to hide a bad hair day and rely on that shadow from the brim to cover up the fact that you were up until 1am doing flat drawings on illustrator (or was that just me?).
