Vivienne Westwood: the woman, the myth, the legend. All cliches aside: what a lady. I first learned of Vivienne Westwood when I began a writing assignment in tenth grade, the subject of which was the intersection of music and fashion. Of course, right there on the corner of said intersection was Vivienne. Forever associated with the Sex Pistols and their manager Malcolm McLaren, Westwood is credited with the invention of the “punk” style.
Since her first days of design in her boutique on Kings Road, Westwood has presented insanely imaginative and individual collections. Vivienne Westwood’s “Red Label” is the younger sister to her main brand, with lower price points and more ready-to-wear garments. I found this vintage corset one day at Chinemachine, what a find.
